Lewis è una serie televisiva poliziesco-drammatica britannica prodotto per ITV. E’ uno spin-off di Inspector Morse e come quella serie è ambientata a Oxford. Kevin Whately nel ruolo di Robert “Robbie” Lewis che era il sergente di Morse nella serie originale. Lewis è stato promosso ispettore ed è assistito dal DS James Hathaway, interpretato da Laurence Fox, anche lui promosso Ispettore nell’ottava stagione, nel 2014.

Dopo la trasmissione del pilota, nel 2006 è stata trasmessa una prima stagione di tre episodi nei mesi di febbraio e marzo 2007. PBS ha trasmesso la serie come Lewis negli Stati Uniti e in Canada, come parte della sua serie Masterpiece Mistero.

Il 21 novembre 2014, Whately annunciato su BBC Radio Oxford che ci sarà una nona serie, con le riprese a partire da maggio / giugno 2015.
