Gotham è una serie televisiva americana di genere supereroi creata da Bruno Heller, basata sui personaggi della DC Comics, in particolare quelli del detective James Gordon e Bruce Wayne, creati da Bob Kane. Protagonista della serie è Ben McKenzie nel ruolo del giovane Gordon. Heller è il produttore esecutivo del progetto insieme a Danny Cannon, che dirigerà l’episodio pilota. Gotham è stata commissionata da Fox il 5 maggio 2014, ed è prevista la premiere il 22 settembre 2014.
Originariamente concepita come una semplice storia degli inizi di Gordon nella polizia di Gotham City, l’idea si è evoluta includendo il personaggio di Bruce Wayne e le storie sull’origine di alcuni cattivi come il Pinguino, l’Enigmista, Catwoman, Joker, Poison Ivy, Spaventapasseri, Hugo Strange, Harvey Dent e Mr. Freeze. La prima stagione sarà composta da sedici episodi.
