12 Monkeys è una serie televisiva americana trasmessa su Syfy che ha debuttato il 16 gennaio 2015.
E’ un mistery-drama di fantascienza basato sull’omonimo film del 1995, diretto da Terry Gilliam, basato a sua volta sul cortometraggio La Jetée di Chris Marker del 1962.
 
Il viaggiatore del tempo James Cole (Aaron Stanford) viaggia a partire dall’anno 2043 fino ad oggi per riuscire a fermare il rilascio di un virus mortale diffuso da un enigmatica organizzazione nota come “Esercito delle Dodici Scimmie”. Questo virus, nella linea temporale originale di Cole, ha causato la morte del 93,6% della popolazione mondiale. Cole sarà aiutato dalla brillante virologa Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull) e da un genio della matematica con problemi mentali, Jennifer Goines (Emily Hampshire).
